Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion restaurant will be at Mission: Sake this year! We caught up with Chef Gary Watanabe at the downtown Los Angeles location and had the opportunity to chat with him about our event and Roy’s. He told us that Roy’s is very involved in community work and often supports events that are for a good cause, such as ours. He also mentioned that he is very familiar with the Little Tokyo community and is honored to participate in our event.
And we are certainly honored to have Chef Gary and his crew at our event serving up Ahi Poke and Black Cod Bites! If we haven’t given you enough reason already to get your tickets to Mission: Sake, this is sure to win you over! Roy’s restaurant is known for its Hawaiian Fusion cuisine, which combines the freshest local ingredients with European sauces and bold Asian spices, and features the finest seafood from the oceans surrounding Hawaii. You’ll feel like you’ve just found paradise with every blissful bite!
Be sure to stop by Roy’s during its popular “Aloha Hour” from 4:30pm to 6:30pm daily and get $6 drinks and delectable appetizers such as Crunchy Golden Lobster Potstickers and Smoked Mahi Mahi Tacos!

We are very pleased that Toranoko Sushi & Izakaya Cocktail Bar will be at our Mission: Sake event for the second year! Fairly new to the Little Tokyo neighborhood, Toranoko has been serving up "true Japanese cuisine with market fresh ingredients, esoteric beverages, and service from the heart" since 2010. They told us they are happy to take part in our event because, “as neighbors, we support each other and the community.” (If you visit Toranoko during lunch or happy hour on any given day chances are high that you’ll run into an LTSC staff member!). Make sure you stop by their table and try their Shrimp Ceviche Handroll with Yuzu Lemon Citrus Sauce. That’s quite a mouthful- just the name alone is enough to tantalize your taste buds!
Next time you’re in the Little Tokyo area and looking for somewhere to dine, visit Toranoko and try their popular charcoal grilled Yakitori, Uni Goma Tofu, and exquisite sushi, all made fresh daily with only the finest ingredients. Toranoko also hosts a happy hour Monday thru Saturday (except Wednesdays) from 5-7pm in the dining area and all night at the bar. Mondays you’ll get 50% off bottles of sake and wine. Tuesdays you’ll get 50% off craft cocktails. And for you foodies on a budget, Wednesdays you’ll get 50% off ALL food, including sushi and specials!
So whether you’re looking to impress a date, entertain friends, or just looking for some good food and drinks, Toranoko is perfect for any occasion!

We are very excited to announce that KCRW’s Jeremy Sole will be DJing at our Sake event! His music will be sure to set a funky chill atmosphere as you enjoy each cup of Sake. His remixes and original compositions of world sounds and experimental beats will lead you into a new dimension of space and time. Influenced early on by blues, jazz, disco and funk, Jeremy has matured as a turntablist in jazz, dub and experimental hybrid bands. As the founder and resident DJ of AFRO FUNKE, a weekly event at the popular Santa Monica club Zanzibar, he and his partners spin Afrobeat, Latin, Brazilian, Indian, Jamaican and other authentic and remixed world rhythms. Sole’s eclectic fusion of cultural rhythms and melodies will pair well with the diverse foods and drinks you will be enjoying at our Sake event.
